About the event

Come and recharge every fiber of your being and reconnect with everything sacred (including yourself) on this 10 day yoga infused journey into one of the most energetically charged places on earth.  From the moment you land in Cusco until it's time to take off again, all the logistics of the trip have been lovingly curated and organized for you with the intent of providing you with a profoundly transformative, soul stirring, and awe inspiring adventure into the heart of Peru's Sacred Valley without having to think, plan, or worry about anything. You'll immerse in the culture of Quechuan village life, explore multiple sacred ancient archeological sites of Incan civilization (including the bucket list icon of Machu Pichu), stroll through colorful indigenous markets, walk in magestically photogenic scapes of the Andes Mountains, participate in various traditional ceremonies led by local shamans, and have plenty of free time to rest or create your own extra adventures.  Our schedule will also incorporate daily yoga practices (including movement, breathwork, meditations, and journaling) that will be suitable to all levels of experience, and geared towards integrating your experiences more deeply and keeping you grounded throughout the journey. I truly believe that this is one of those journeys that will nourish your mind, body, heart, and soul so sacredly, that it will be life changing in the most mystical way.....I'd love to share it with you.

DETAILED ITINERARY:
  • Day 1: You will be picked up from Cusco airport (remember to schedule arrival before noon, which might mean the need to stay in Lima the night prior) and driven to the Sacred Valley, surrounded by breathtaking Andean vistas. Once everyone has settled into our accomodations we will participate in an integration ceremony led  by an Andean maestro. This ceremonial experience offers an opportunity to connect with the spiritual essence of the region and set your intention for this sacred adventure. Today signifies the start of your immersive journey where ancient traditions and culture merge with the powerful healing energy of mother earth and personal introspection, setting the stage for profound inner reflection and transformation. We will have our first group yoga session and a welcome circle before dinner.

  • Day 2: After yoga and breakfast, our tranfer staff will take us to Umasbamba,  a small high mountain village near Chinchero. You will have the opportunity to have a hands on learning experience through workshops that showcase their traditional way of life and Andean culture. Highlights include an introduction to the community, farming demonstrations, insights into potato and alpaca farming, weaving showcases, and seasonal volunteering activities such as crop harvesting, mud house building, animal care, or weaving. We will have a short outdoor yoga session to soak in the magic of it all intentionally, and then have an authentic lunch prepared for us by a local family. After lunch, we will participate in a ceremonial offering to Mother Earth performed by a Q'eros Shaman, and then visit the archeological site of Moray with our shaman to learn more about the ancient Inca culture. Depending on time, and how we feel, we could also visit the Inca site of Chinchero before heading back to our accomodation for rest and dinner.

  • Day 3: After yoga and breakfast, we will drive to the local village of Ollantaytambo where we will have time to leisurely stroll the charming village paths and visit the archeological site there, before boarding the train to Aguas Calientes (there are  strict luggage size/weight limits on the train so we will bring just what we need for our overnight journey to one of the wonders of the world). We will get checked into our overnight lodging in Aguas Calientes, and then have time to choose an activity or simply relax and soak in the buzzing atmosphere of the village that is the gateway to Machu Pichu. Activity choices include a short walk to the Alcamayo Waterfall, or a visit to the thermal pools (that the town are named after) for a soak. Dinner is not included this evening but there are a variety of restaurants for us to choose from.

  • Day 4: After an early breakfast we will make our way to the entrance and through the checkpoint (you will need your original passport for this) to the ancient Inca citadel of Machu Pichu. We will explore every inch of the world wonder....well not really, but our guide will lead us to see and feel a multitude of the power spots, and will explain fascinating facts about history, purpose, and beliefs. We will have plenty of time to have some mindful yoga moments to soak it all in, take pictures, and wander on our own a bit before heading back to Aguas Calientes to catch the train and transport back to our lodging in the valley. We'll have a relaxing integrative yoga session before or after dinner depending on timing of the days events.

  • Day 5: Today marks half way through the trip and there has already been A LOT to absorb.....today (besides yogas, breakfast, and dinner), nothing is scheduled. It's a free day. A rest day. An integrative pause. A 'choose your own adventure' day. There are spa services, healing treatments, classes, or additional excursions available for you to sign up for if you like (these options are not included in the cost of your retreat). The grounds at our Andean Lodge boast lovely gardens and community spaces to relax in.

  • Day 6: After yoga and breakfast we will drive to the village of Pisaq where you will have opportunities to visit the impressive archeological site there, and stroll the lively plaza, colorful local market, and charming village streets. You will have the option of walking down from the Inca ruins to the village below,or be driven down. The hike down takes about 1.5 hours. Along the way, you'll be treated to stunning  panoramic Andean vistas, run into several more Incan ruins, and possibly meet some alpacas. Pisaq village will have several lovely options for lunch. You can be spontaneous in choosing to hike or ride down. Yoga and dinner back at the lodge.

  • Day 7: After yoga and breakfast it will be time to say goodbye to our Andean lodge in the Sacred Valley and head towards Cusco. Prior to the drive to the city, we will enjoy a leisurely walk to Naupa Iglesia, a profoundly energetic site enveloped by stunning natural landscapes. We will be accompanied by a local Andean shaman and participate in ancestral cleansing and connection ceremonies led by him at the sacred site. Later we will drive to Cuzco, and check into our new accomodations. You can either relax there or explore the city on your own. Dinners are not included in the cost of the retreat while in Cusco. Dining options will be abundant and fun to check out.

  • Day 8: After yoga and breakfast we will meet our local english speaking guide to begin our walking tour of the city. We will explore a plentiful amount of the the highlights as well as lesser known gems, and benefit from our guides knowledge who will offer fascinating explanations about Incan architecture and history. Highlighted will be the Plaza de Armas, the famous 12 angles stone which is located in an ancient temple, and the traditional San Pedro market to learn about local products and customs of Cusquenos. There will also be an opportunity to visit the Qoricancha Sun temple if we would spontaneously like to do so. The afternoon is free for you to do as you wish. The list of options will be long, and rest is a viable option.

  • Day 9: After yoga and breakfast , we will explore the outskirts of Cuzco further and visit the ancient Moon Temple. We will embark on a mindful walk with our Andean shaman into stunning landscapes, and we will participate in a coca leaf reading. The shaman will interpret the leaves, which are believed to symbolize our material and spiritual worlds, providing insights and guidance on our personal journeys, health, love life and more......a translator will be provided for the interpretation. As we approach the end of the last day of the retreat, will also perform a farewell ceremony of gratitude, sharing meaningful closing moments of connection as a group that has shared an epic journey together. This will be a good opportunity to make heartfelt wishes for our loved ones and ourselves, as well as fellow group members. We will return to Cusco for some reflective yoga and then a final dinner choice to make. (Time permitting and energy levels considered, we have the option of adding a stop at Saqsayhuaman Inca site for a guided exploration.)

  • Day 10: After yoga and breakfast, farewells shall ensue as the group parts ways. Transports to the Cusco airport  will be provided. If you'd like to extend your trip to explore more of the area or participate in an ayuhuasca journey, other arangements can be made and assistance to organize extentions is available.
